Occupational Therapy (OT) is a science degree-based, health and social care profession, regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council. Occupational Therapy takes a “whole-person approach” to both mental and physical health and wellbeing and enables individuals to achieve their full potential.

Occupational Therapists are dual trained in mental health and physical disability at the point of qualification. This enables a whole-person approach in understanding the mental health, physical health, emotional and behavioural needs of the individual and their impact on health and wellbeing; enabling Occupational Therapists to support individuals to achieve their full potential.

'Occupational Therapy helps you live your best life at home, at work – and everywhere else.' (RCOT, 2023)

Occupational Therapists at Sport for Confidence provide practical support to empower people to facilitate recovery and overcome barriers preventing them from doing the meaningful activities (or occupations) that matter to them. Engagement in these meaningful activities can promote and enhance occupational performance components, which are transferable skills required for activities of daily living. From eating and sleeping, personal care and exercise, to accessing community assets, personal finances and more.

Occupational Therapists consider and explore the personal, environmental, and occupational needs of a person, to support them holistically to achieve their goals and increase their sense of belonging, well-being, and satisfaction in all aspects of life.

At Sport for Confidence we place our Occupational Therapists into non-traditional settings, however their scope of practice remains the same, utilizing their skillset, passion and core values to make a positive difference to any person in any setting.

We are always on the look out for dynamic, brave and creative Occupational Therapists.
