The Sport for Confidence Community Team is an exciting new model of community-based delivery, designed to support residents across Westminster in accessing Occupational Therapy (OT) and meaningful physical activity opportunities. Building on the success of our established leisure centre model with Everyone Active, this initiative expands opportunities for individuals with physical and learning disabilities, sensory impairments, and long-term health conditions, along with their carers. By creating accessible and inclusive spaces, we aim to empower individuals to engage in physical activity and achieve their personal goals.

Our Commitment to the Community

Westminster already boasts a diverse range of physical activity opportunities, supported by dedicated local providers. Our mission is to complement and enhance these existing provisions by identifying available activities and integrating them into a therapeutic framework. This approach will help promote health, prevent ill-health, and enable individuals to achieve their goals beyond sport alone.

The SFC Community Team is dedicated to:

Access for All: Ensuring borough-wide access to Occupational Therapists.
Inclusive Opportunities: Supporting local providers in delivering inclusive physical activity sessions.
Partnerships: Strengthening connections with Adult Social Care, NHS services, and community organisations.
Tailored Support: Offering personalised guidance based on each participant’s unique needs and aspirations.
Building Capacity: We aim to expand inclusive opportunities by equipping local coaches and staff with the skills to create welcoming and accessible environments.

Through this collaborative approach, we are seeking to build active lives and active neighbourhoods, reducing health inequalities, and creating lasting positive experiences for all residents of Westminster.

Partnership and Community Integration

Our Occupational Therapists and Coaches work closely with local community groups and organisations to establish strong and sustainable partnerships.
A key initiative in this effort is the introduction of the SfC Partnership Mark – the Smiley Face.

The Smiley Face Partnership Mark

The SfC Partnership Mark is more than just a logo; it is a symbol of trust, collaboration, and inclusion. When displayed on marketing materials, it represents a partnership between Sport for Confidence and local groups dedicated to community wellbeing.

What the Smiley Face Represents:

A Trusted Partnership: This mark signifies that the activity or programme has been co-created with Sport for Confidence Occupational Therapists and Coaches.
Visibility and Trust: Flyers, social media posts, and marketing materials featuring the Smiley Face assure the community that the activity is inclusive, accessible, and person-centred.
Celebrating Collaboration: Partners displaying the Smiley Face highlight their commitment to inclusive and engaging physical activity, reinforcing a shared vision of an active and supportive community.
