Sport England recognises the ‘amazing work’ we deliver and features SfC participants in its latest video!

Here, at Sport For Confidence we are absolutely delighted to be able to welcome our participants back to our leisure centre sessions. The last 12 months have been challenging for everyone but it has been particularly tricky for many people with additional needs.

In a recent blog, ‘An inclusive return to sport and physical activity’, Adam Blaze, Strategic Lead for Disability, Sport England, references Sport For Confidence as an example of an organisation doing ‘amazing work’ in order to keen its participants engaged and active during the pandemic.

Blaze also acknowledges how important it is that, as the sport and physical activity sector begins its recovery, we don’t leave disabled people behind.

According to the Activity Alliance’s Achieving Fairness Strategy 2021-2024, disabled people are one of the least active groups in our society and we definitely do not want this gap to widen post pandemic. To help guard against this, in its new, ten year strategy, ‘Uniting The Movement’, Sport England outlines a commitment to reducing inequalities in sport and physical activity. This, again, is an ambition very much at the heart of Sport For Confidences ambitions.

Through our Sport England funded #PlayYourPart project and collaboration with our extensive network of community partners, we are absolutely focused on driving inclusion in sport and physical activity. We believe, it is everybody’s right, regardless of ability, to access and enjoy the full complement of physical mental and social benefits sport delivers and we will continue to #playourpart in making this possible.
