New Partnership Between Sport for Confidence & Activity Alliance Creates New Roles
Posted on 10th July 2024 at 12:04
We are recruiting for several roles. These opportunities are the first of their kind, involving a collaboration between two Sport England partners, Activity Alliance and Sport for Confidence. Together we are delivering a new exciting programme called Recover and Reinvent.
We are working together with many national disability sports partners, the voluntary and community sector, leisure and health. Empowered by people’s lived experiences, we aim to maximise our collective knowledge, insight and impact to reduce inequalities for disabled people.
We know that disabled people face significant challenges in participating, volunteering, and working in sport and physical activity for many reasons including financial, physical, psychological and structural barriers.
Recover and Reinvent will address this by enhancing participation, volunteering and employment opportunities. Disabled people’s experiences and voices will be an essential part of shaping and leading this programme over the next two years.
The new roles will help us to plan and deliver the programme.
Programme Lead, Occupational Therapist
Senior Occupational Therapist
Peer Support Worker(s)
Part- or full-time roles are considered for all three roles, flexible working available. For more information on all roles available please look here - Careers at Sport for Confidence
As part of the programme, Activity Alliance will recruit several additional roles to support the delivery:
Activity Alliance Strategic Lead
Activity Alliance Programme Advisor
For more information on these roles, please look here - Activity Alliance Jobs
If you are interested in any of the roles, please do get in touch through our careers@sportforconfidence.com email account.
If you match our values, have the vision to do things differently, and have a passion for centering the participant voice – please do still get in touch! The person specification is a guidance framework, but not compulsory!
We would like to see a CV and cover letter, but also open to video entries and or other accessible means of declaring an interest.
If you would like to discuss the job over the telephone, please contact one of the following:
Jake Turner, Operations Director, 07566200070
Lisa Westhorpe, Occupational Therapist, 07355091635
Liz Fletcher, Occupational Therapist, 07593555704
Please let us know if there is anything you think we can do to make this process easier or more comfortable for you. Please email us or call directly to discuss what support we might be able to provide. Here are some examples of extra support:
• A phone call before you apply to discuss the role and ask questions.
• Putting your application form into another format. This could be large print or enabling you to submit a response via video or audio clip.
• If you are successful, arrange a conversation before the interview.
• During the interview, we can provide support such as BSL interpreters or large format materials. You may want extra time to complete tasks or travel adjustments. You are of course more than welcome to bring a personal assistant with you too.
Closing date for applications is 31st July at 1700.
You will have the option for an online or in-person interview. These will take place on the 14th & 15th August or at one of our accessible offices (Essex, London, Loughborough). If you prefer in person, reasonable travel expenses will be paid.
