Since launching in December, The Learning Arena has delivered 25 sessions to over 500 people, spanning health, adult social care, education, sport, and leisure sectors.
Led by Sport for Confidence, we combine occupational therapy, physical activity expertise, and lived experience to create inclusive, real-world learning. Our mission is simple: to support professionals to widen access to sport and physical activity to create truly accessible opportunities for everyone, and in doing so, build healthier, more connected communities.
Current Learning Opportunities
We offer eLearning courses, workshops, and hands-on experiences — online and face-to-face. Here’s a taste of what’s happening now:
Inclusive Coaching in Action – A full or half-day course (online or in-person) led by an Occupational Therapist and Coach Educator, giving coaches practical skills to create truly inclusive environments and see sport’s wider benefits beyond the obvious.
The Power of Inclusive Language & Communication – A 90-minute workshop exploring why language matters and how to make your communication truly inclusive.
Using Movement to Manage Stress – An interactive 90-minute workshop on movement-based tools for tackling stress, anxiety, and burnout. An ideal opportunity for anyone seeking to manage stress for yourself or to help support others.
Using Movement to Manage Exam Stress – The same practical approach, tailored for students and staff in any educational setting.
Therapeutic Guides – Downloadable or printed resources (plus optional eLearning) showing how sports like Boccia, Cycling, Golf, Snooker, and Table Tennis can be used to support therapeutic outcomes.
Student Host Days – Spend a day with the Sport for Confidence team, seeing inclusive practice in action. Learn the value and implementation of using physical activity to support therapeutic outcomes, meet the team and our fantastic participants.
Movement Beyond Medicine – A workshop for health and social care teams, reframing physical activity as a powerful wellbeing tool in daily life that can be used in your own practices to help yourself and those you’re working with.
Coming Soon
We’re expanding our learning offer with fresh eLearning and new workshops:
Inclusive Coaching in Action – A shortened online version of our popular face-to-face course. This eLearning course empowers you with the knowledge and practical skills to create inclusive environments where all participants feel valued and supported.
Belonging in Sport – An eLearning course exploring what Belonging really means within sports environments. It challenges perspectives, deepens understanding, and provides actionable steps to facilitate meaningful participation in sport.
Movement Beyond Medicine, Reframing Physical Activity through an Occupational Therapy Lens – Expanding on our face-to-face workshop, this eLearning course helps learners see movement as an integral part of everyday life. It compares the medical lens to the occupational therapy perspective that recognises the role of movement, beyond medicine.

Looking at the system mapping, increasing connectivity to systems, understanding and making referrals, the importance of self-care and how physical activity can be applied to Social Prescribing.
