At Sport for Confidence, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of our mission to make physical activity accessible and meaningful for everyone.
Our Diversity & Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) 2025–2027 sets out a clear commitment to creating safe, welcoming spaces where all individuals feel valued, respected and empowered.
The plan builds on our history of working alongside people furthest away from physical activity and sport, guided by the expertise of participants, occupational therapists, and coaches. It recognises that everyone has a right to enjoy the benefits of sport and movement, and that reducing inequality in access is vital to improving health, social and occupational outcomes.
Our DIAP focuses on three core commitments: ensuring our workforce reflects the diversity of the communities we serve, elevating the voice of lived experience in shaping our work, and fostering an equitable culture across every level of the organisation.
To achieve this, we have set out actions under five principles from the Code for Sports Governance: Structure, People, Communication, Standards & Conduct, and Policies & Processes. These include diversifying leadership, strengthening inclusive recruitment, embedding EDI training, amplifying participant voices, and reviewing our policies to ensure fairness and accountability.
Importantly, the plan is not just strategic words—it is a living commitment, reviewed annually, with accountability built in through our Board, staff, and community voices. By working together, we will continue to challenge inequalities, celebrate diversity, and ensure that Sport for Confidence remains a place where everyone belongs.
