GLL & Waltham Forest Council: Waltham Forest Council and its leisure centre partner GLL are proud to play host to Sports for Confidence. We work in the community to give residents the support they need to make the most of their life chances so that they enjoy healthy, full and happy lives – opening up access to sport with Sports for Confidence is one of the ways we can achieve this.

Tennis Foundation: Sport for Confidence have partnered with the Tennis Foundation, Great Britain’s leading tennis charity, to be part of their national ‘SERVES’ programme that takes tennis to new people and new places. SERVES is a community-based sport for development programme created to help young people develop valuable life skills, both on and off the tennis court, which in turn builds their confidence, health and employment prospects. It does this by bringing tennis right into the heart of communities, and training people from these communities to deliver the sessions to their peers. SERVES courts now ‘pop-up’ at sites every week in places as diverse as mosques, church halls and youth centres.

Coach Core: Coach Core is an apprenticeship programme that helps young people (16-24 years old) who are not in education, employment or training to build a career. By bringing together professional clubs, key sporting organisations and multiple businesses that provide employment places and create opportunities, Coach Core is producing well-rounded sports professionals and role models for children in their communities.”

This is our promise to our members, stakeholders and the nation. We exist to serve any organisation with a role to play in, or benefit to be gained from getting more people, more active, more often. We will provide a supportive, professional and innovative platform for our partners to succeed in achieving their goals.

Active Essex: Active Essex is the Physical Activity and Sport Partnership for Greater Essex. It was formed in 2013 and continues to deliver a lasting legacy to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. In June 2017, Active Essex launched a new four year strategy to tackle the issues around inactivity and change 1 million lives by getting Essex active. Currently 22% of the population across the county are classified as inactive at a cost to the NHS of £58m a year. To achieve these ambitious targets we will focus on four main priorities: to drive and sustain participation in physical activity; improve health and wellbeing amongst specific groups who are currently inactive; develop the people and organisations who work or volunteer in the sector and strengthen local partnerships and networks. Essex has been selected by Sport England to take part in a new pioneering programme aimed at increasing participation in sport and physical activity and supercharging people’s attitudes to make being active ‘the norm’.
